Answers to All Your Inquiries
Team Believe is a competitive boys basketball team located in the Ottawa area. This team aims to help individuals reach their maximum potential not only on the court but in all aspects of their lives.
What does the name mean? The name Believe all started due to the slogan “ Your Dream, Your Story” In order to achieve anything in life you must first start off with a Dream. Your dream is what fuels you to achieve new and higher limits. This is only possible if you truly believe in what you are doing and always giving 100%.
At Believe our main focus is to make sure all of our athletes reach their goals & dreams. We Believe that if all our athletes' buy-in, believe in the system, believe in our coaches, and trainers we will set them up for success.
Requirements:
-
Each athlete on this team must maintain a 70% grade average minimum. While this may seem a bit strange compared to other clubs, our goal is to make sure each one of our athletes' graduates and has the opportunity to get in college/university and play at the next level. Education is a big part in life and we truly believe that without school no matter how good you are on the court you will never be able to move forward with your basketball goals unless your marks match!
Attendance:
As mentioned above our goal is to not only help our athletes on the court but in all aspects of their lives. Attendance is a HUGE competent in life. It does not only show that you are present, but it shows you respect the time of everyone you are working with, and are fully buying into the system you are part of. Attendance also shows accountability. We feel by holding a high standard of attendance we are showing these kids that it is not ok to be late, miss things when they feel like it and just not show up. By making this one of our main rules we strongly feel this will translate over to other parts of their lives IE: “school & workplace”
Volunteer Hours:
It will be required that each one of our athletes does 20 hours of volunteer from start - end of the season. This will be done individually or as a team bonding activity. We strongly believe that networking, and giving back is a huge part of life. Allowing our athletes to get out there in the workplace, get familiar with how businesses work, helping others, and working on their communication skills we are giving them a great foundation to grow as individuals.

“Believe” will be catered and revolve only around players that want to play at the next level. This is not a team for players who will miss many practices, be late to practices, selfish, and not ready to give 110% to the team. We will hold each athlete to a high standard and make sure they all improve in all aspects. If you feel you this is a great situation for you and are ready to take your game to the next level, we want to work with you!
